An Inspirational Thank You Note: "I love Hustle Your Bustle"

Jul 31, 2013 (1 year ago)

We recived this beyond inspiring thank you note today and wanted to share it as it warmed our hearts and made all our HYB efforts worthwhile. It is precesiley the reason we started HYB and we are overjoyed to have helped.

It makes us so happy to know that the sisterhood of the travelling wedding dress has begun and that women around the world have joined forces to pass on the love. The wedding dress will dance on from one special bride to another.

"Dear Ladies,
I wanted to reach out and say thank you for your website.  During my wedding planning my mom and I found the perfect dress.  We laughed, we cried, we were on top of the world.  Although I had the perfect dress, I unfortunately had not found the perfect man and called off my wedding twelve days before the big day.  The dress that had once brought me joy was banished to a closet in my apartment.

One day when I was feeling strong my friends and I had some mimosas, put on my dress, took some pictures and put it on your site.  Two months later it was sold.

Now that dress can bring someone else the happiness it once afforded me.  I was even able to pay my mom back for half of what she spent on it, which we both consider a win!

Thank you for your site.  Canceling a wedding is a horrible experience but your site helped lighten the load.

You do good work.

With Love,"

Bridal Beauty ~ Tips from the Experts at Park Avenue Blow Dry Salon

Jul 20, 2013 (1 year ago)

We know you want to look your very best on your wedding day. Head to toe perfection is necessary when all your family and friends have their eyes on you. And, of course, there's those photographs that last a lifetime.

Hustle Your Bustle can help you find the perfect wedding dress, but we wanted to go one step further and ask our friends at Park Avenue Blow Dry Salon and Kensington Makeup and Hair what brides should do to make sure their hair, makeup, and skin looks flawless for the special day.

"Start prepping your skin 6 months before the wedding," advises Rayanna, the skin therapy expert at Park Avenue. "Get regular facials so you have that gorgeous bridal glow. And once you decide on your skincare routine, don't change it until after the wedding."

Bridal Beauty Tips

"Exfoliate regularly. We have an amazing brown sugar body scrub from LaLicious that smells amazing and leaves skin feeling soft and touchable," Lino, hair stylist and make up artist, sugggests.

"Make sure you communicate with your hair and makeup artists," says Holli Chris, owner of Park Avenue Blow Dry Salon and Kensington Makeup and Hair.

"Schedule a trial one to two months before your wedding to figure out your hair and makeup so you can relax on the big day. Bring in multiple photos of styles you like so your artist can get a complete vision of what you want and customize a look special for you. Also make sure to bring your veil, tiara, headband or hair jewelry so the stylist can make sure to incorporate them into the look."

Bridal Beauty Tips Wedding Day Hair and Makeup Wedding Dresses

"The most important thing to remember is that you want to stay true to yourself. It's still you, and it's YOUR day. You should look like yourself, just a beautiful bridal version of yourself," reminds Billy, a master stylist at Park Avenue.

And we completely agree! You are already beautiful, but these tips will help you feel absolutely flawless on your special day.
